There will be no symbiotic relationship with alien life. The hollywood scenario of a friendly visitor coming over for a chat is not logically consistent with what we know to be reality.
We are not the first but we will be the best
We must operate on a presumption based on a known scientific fact. The presumption is that there are other older intelligent civilizations out there. The scientific fact is that life, intelligence and cooperation naturally arrives from existing natural processes. In many ways the sun is our father because it provided the energy needed to cook up and sustain life. After life begins, evolution takes control.
